April 6, 2011

Vancouver, B.C.

For Immediate Release

West Vancouver Yacht Club is pleased to announce the 2011 Farr 30 International One Design Class Canadian Championship, to be held August 12 to 14, 2011.

The Canadian Championship regatta is timed to provide a top-flight Farr 30 competition to boats that are going to the Farr 30 North American and World Championships in San Francisco.  Racing will be held in one of the most beautiful sailing venues in the world, on courses in Howe Sound, the Strait of Georgia and English Bay, adjacent to the city of Vancouver.

Building on the very successful 2010 Farr 30 Canadian Championship, West Vancouver Yacht Club and the Vancouver Farr 30 fleet extend a warm welcome to any and all out-of-area boats, regardless of nationality, to come race in this exciting venue. Early indications are that the fleet will include boats from the active local Farr 30 fleet, boats from Seattle and boats from the East Coast.

WVYC makes it easy and cost-effective for out-of-town boats by providing facilities for launching and mooring boats, stepping rigs and storing trailers, free of charge.
