2016 Canadian Championships

Returning to West Vancouver Yacht Club the 2016 Canadian championships served up a challenging course and conditions.  Strong rain, followed by wind in the mid teens and a strong current were the defining points for day one.  Three races were held with some close finishes in the top 4 boats.  The races were defined by a strong start and tactical first leg to be the first to round.  Strong currents made for few passing lanes on the downwind with few boats reshuffling after the first leg.  The event was dominated by Through and eventually won with straight bullets for the event.  Congratulations to Andrew Hamilton and Crew for their excellent teamwork, tactics and boat speed to win the event.  In second place was Spiny Norman skippered by Rich Alban and in third M Power skippered by James Duess.
